1. A School from Threads
Each stitch of a mochila carries more than color and culture — it carries bricks, beams, and books.
Thanks to our community of supporters, we helped fund the construction of a school that now stands proudly in Tayku, deep within Tayrona Park. Completed in October 2024, the school welcomes over 35 children, Kogui students from Tayku and neighboring Indigenous communities, as well as a few local children from the surrounding area.
It’s more than a building. It’s a beginning.
From the first shovel in the dirt to the final coat of paint, this school was built by hands, hope, and heritage — and every mochila sale helped lay its foundation.
From the ground up — every brick laid was part of the vision.
Finished by hand, filled with hope — the school now serves over 35 Indigenous and local children.
2. Powering Possibility: Solar Systems for Remote Living
In Tayku, electricity isn’t a guarantee — but community is.
With your support, we’ve installed solar panels that now power seven Indigenous homes and one small tienda (community store). These systems provide reliable lighting where there was once only darkness — allowing families to gather after sunset and children to read at night.

3. Clean Water, Clean Future: The Osmosis Systems
For years, families in Tayku relied on rivers and streams for drinking water — exposing them to parasites, stomach infections, and dehydration.
Now, thanks to the sale of our handmade mochilas, we’ve installed reverse osmosis filtration systems that turn uncertainty into health and hope. Children now drink clean water. Mothers no longer boil water over open fire just to make it safe.

4. Food for Today, and for the Journey Ahead
Hunger can’t wait for progress and in Tayku, we’ve made sure it doesn’t have to.
Through Woven Wildly, we’ve held over 50 large-scale food donations for Indigenous families in the region. Essential items like rice, grains, beans, oil, and other staples are delivered directly to those most in need — elders, children, single mothers, and entire households navigating scarcity.
We’ll never forget the look on the little girl’s face as she reached up for her first share. That moment lives inside every bag we send into the world.
